Northeast District of the Florida State Association of Rehabilitation Nurses

We would like to recognize our long time member, Jean Kurkowski, for accommodating our group and letting us gather at her house to celebrate the season and the hard work of the year.
For those of you who do not know Jean here is a little information about her. She graduated from her nursing program from Methodist of Kahler in Rochester, Minnesota. This school was associated with Mayo Clinic 1963. During her nursing career Jean was worked in nursing homes in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jacksonville, Florida, the VA in Chicago, and finally found her home back to Jacksonville where she continued to work and retired in 2017.
Jean’s most enjoyable work was with teaching people, especially the patients with spinal cord injuries and running the bowel and bladder program.
Jean is a role model of a Rehabilitation Nurse. She works tirelessly to care for her patients and advocate for those in the community. She was always a great preceptor as attested to by the new nurses who were able to work with her.
We want to thank you, Jean, and her husband, for offering your house to be the warm and cozy place where the members, friends, and family can gathering and enjoy time together during the holidays.
We hope you all had a Happy Holiday Season and wish you a Happy New Year!
